In addition to being the principal language of Germany, Austria and one of the three main languages in Switzerland, German is, surprisingly, the language most natives will try on foreigners when they come visiting to various places in Europe. Such as: Hungary, Yugoslavia, Estonia (to name a few) - All the way to Poland and even Moscow!

Some have said German's grammer is far from the most difficult, though it does present it's challenges. There are three genders in German and officially four noun cases, though they are not as difficult as in some other languages.
